  1. There are few projects out there called "SubSync", however this open source one it really stands out:

    As I understand it transcribes internally the speech of a reference video file and use it to adjust only the timing of a each sentence in the subtitle provided.
    I have been synchronising subtitles manually for years, thsi to me is a game changer!
    It still has a limited amount of (spoken) languages supported but for English and few other (Spanish, French, etc) this is a God sent!
    I am just a user myself and in no way linked to this project but I think we all should be aware of it and perhaps support it somehow?
    As a starter would you please add it to the list of subtitle software we have?
