  1. From time to time, the PotPlayer on my PC crash, with the following error message:

    Name: PotPlayer - Error.png
Views: 3544
Size: 7.9 KB

I was unable to find where the application generates the error logs to try to find out more about the problem.

The error happens sporadically, especially when I browse the video using the seekbar. Sometimes it works for hours without problems...

    Info:
    SO: Windows 10 64-bit
    APP Versions: PotPlayer 200317 64-bit / PotPlayer 200427 Beta 64-bit

    Thanks

  2. Does anyone know where the app saves the crash logs?

    Thanks

Don't use it but are you using the stable version or the beta version ?

  4. The bug happens in both versions!
I upgraded to the beta version a few days ago to see if the problem had been fixed...

    Thanks

  5. I'm not able to register on the PotPlayer forum to post the bug there, so I asked on this forum!

  6. The program worked well before. My computer gave some problems and I needed to use the system restore tool. After that the bug in the player appeared!

    Thanks

  7. Try to backup settings and reset settings.

  8. I tried to reset his configuration, but to no avail. I also tried to reinstall a few times ...
Then I will try to go back to a stable version or even test an older version.
But the problem is that it happened after my PC got infected and my anti-virus removed a lot of things that it thought were infected. I think there may be some dependency that has been removed and I didn't realize to reinstall it. Before that it worked perfectly!

    Thanks

  9. OK, so it's not a PotPlayer bug, you could try the System Restore, but it could recover the infection too.

Try to reinstall the drivers for motherboard and GPU, the last solution is probably just Windows reinstall.

  10. I believe that I got rid of the infection, because I already had several anti-virus on my PC. The problem was that I saw that they removed several files (DLLs) that appear to have been infected, even from trusted programs. I imagine I forgot to reinstall any of these programs and this may have caused the bug in PotPlayer.
I don't want to have to reinstall Windows on my PC, as this is the only program that is giving me a headache right now!
If I could see any error logs, maybe I could have some idea of what is causing this problem!
I've tried to reinstall my video driver (NVIDIA), but I don't think this is the problem anyway, since PotPlayer has a problem using both hardware or software decoding.

    Thanks.

  11. I tried to attach the PotPlayer on the WinDbg and I obtained that log before the crash:

  14. Here it got a little better after I reinstalled the video driver (NVIDIA) after using the DDU to clean the old drivers.
But it did not fix the problem, but it is much less frequent today!
