I put the newest VLC on the computer, right from their website. Used the "media" button and chose "open disc", "blu-ray" and "play".

    It said
    Blu-ray error:
This Blu-ray Disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it.

Are there any files or codecs that can be added to VLC that will make it play Blu-Ray discs? The last I heard about goes back about 8 years, and it was still very "iffy".

    EDIT:

Yes, I know about the link here to
    http://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/

Firefox blocked my getting there, saying something was suspicious about how the website was configured.

  4. The site certificate for ssl/https connections expired 22 days ago.

That means nothing - http vs https simply means the latter is encrypted. Mostly a very pointless push by activists to encrypt everything online for no good reason except to drive everyone nuts with expired certificates and wasting bandwidth.

Sure, banking needs https, but news? Downloads? Info? Not really.

All the link will do if you bypass the warning is give you need key database. No virus in that, just data.

    ....

Now, another place talked about in the doom9 forums is:
    http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net/

They have newer cfg files you can download with no issues.
