  1. I have many vhs-c tapes that I would like to play and ultimately transfer to dvd. I have the Panasonic adapter for the tapes but I no longer have the Panasonic VHS player. The adapter will not fit into my vhs player that I use to burn vhs tapes to dvd.
What are my options for playing these tapes? I also have a elgato video capture device to transfer them to my Mac if I can just play them.
Thank you very much for any advice.

not sure what adapter your referring to, you need one of these - https://www.ebay.com/itm/JVC-C-P6U-VHC-C-Cassette-Tape-Adapter-Converter-Motorized-VHS...YAAOSwN~dejSsv you just put the vhc-c tape into the adapter and the cassette works
    in any VCR.

  3. I have a Panasonic VHS PlayPak adapter VYMS0059
It will not got all the way into my VCR - which is not a Panasonic VCR.
So, I'm wondering if it only fits in a Panasonic VCR

sounds like an issue with your VCR. do regular VHS tapes work ok ??
also check the battery in the adapter

You need a VCR that is known to work well with VHS-C.
Otherwise the deck will play the tape badly, often going as far as to "eat" the tape. Then you're really screwed.
Same goes for the adapters. Good ones are good, bad ones eat tapes.

    Choose VHS-C playback hardware wisely!
