  1. I have looked at various forums and the solutions mentioned in them haven't worked for me. I am playing back NTSC tapes which are in excellent condition on a Sony camcorder w/ TBC and DNR on. The camcorder is connected to a Tevion USB capture device. I am using Virtualdub. I have selected the following under Capture>Timing:
    • Drop and insert null frames both checked
    • Resync mode: do not resync
    • Correct video timing checked
    • Automatically disable resync checked
    • Audio latency determination: Automatic w/ value 30
    • DirectShow options: None checked

With resync mode set to Do not resync, I get a huge progressive delay of about 2 minutes between video and audio. If sync audio to video is checked, the audio and video are more or less in sync; however, some parts of the audio have pitch issues which is expected as explained in Virtualdub's manual.

It's worth noting that I have also tried AmaRecTV, but that program results in many scenes that have sped up video, so it's not really an option here.

I have also tried the following solution offered by another user. The delay gets much lower (~4 seconds), but video and audio are still out of sync.

Method 1 (after DV AVI capture)
    - Open AVI in VirtualDUB
    - Go to video - Framerate and then select adjust audio/video to framerate
    - Save AVI (video: direct stream copy and audio: direct stream copy)
I was wondering if there's a way to fix the delay issue without having to purchase a professional VCR.

I've already stated the problem with Amarectv. iuvcr is also known to have audio video sync issues.

    Why?
VirtualDub works 99% of the time.
Amarec is messy, not user friendly.
icVCR is just downright obsolete, and works almost never.
