As always .. there is nothing wrong with my environment
-
ATTENTION PLEASE!
With the next nightly build (3.4.5.09), the storage mode for settings will change from PC-specific to global.
This means that when you start the new version, your previous settings will no longer apply.
If you want to keep your previous settings, you must proceed as follows:
After the update, the first start window will be displayed. Close the app using the X in the top right corner.
Open the portable.config file in a text editor, select all lines in section 1, and copy them to section 2, overwriting it.
Then save the file.
You can then start clever as usual.

NB
If you want to use earlier versions, leave section 1 in portable.config.
Otherwise, you can also delete it.
EDIT:
If you want, you can adjust the portable.config now, then it will be ready for the new version.Last edited by ProWo; 7th Sep 2025 at 08:14. Reason: Info added.

Q: if we left sec#1 in, going forward, are you going to be updating both sections? or only sec #2?

tested to encode a few FLAC (7.1 to eac3) tracks and they never finish encoding - the timer keeps going after 100% is done and the file is never written on the disk.

@ ProWo
If you find some time - a tidy cut page might look something like this.
It's in the order of what needs to be done.
Select KF search app, the stream index, the keyframe type,
search cut points, enter start and end time,
add cut mark.

EDIT: Or like that:

v3.4.5.09
Deleted my old backup file to make a new one. I guess clever didn't like that ..
Have you migrated backup settings to the Roaming profile as well? [Settings.VB$StateMachine ??]
@ProWo you have to check index values before calling or using arrays. Programming 101.

v3.4.5.09 Feedback
When you set up 09 without a portable.config, you are in a loop setting up the LUT's folder.
No paths or folders are accepted.
When you kill the app, you have this entry <luts_path>C:\</luts_path> in the portable.config.
Default is <luts_path></luts_path>. -

Now that the configuration settings is really portable,
would it make sense for the backup to include the
portable.config [to portable.bck] as well, which I assume,
would allow restoring settings on another pc.

I like the second Cut window. But don't worry if it doesn't work for you.
---
Still the same restore Problem in 09. It look like that the first restore of 08 open a second instance of 09 and close the older one. At the second restore, 09 get closed first and 08 opens up. So I still have to run restore twice.
EDIT: Replacing an old backup before doing an update works well within the app.Last edited by Findu; 8th Sep 2025 at 07:03.

@ ProWo
How about moving the stream selection field a little to the left to fit the position of the field above?
Please be patient, I don't understand the problem.
If you restore from 09 to 08, then 08 will start.
With 08 started, you don't have access to the 08 backup, and you will be prompted to update to 09.
If you do that, 09 will start and you will be offered a restore to 08.
That works as expected for me. -

If you do that, 09 will start and you will be offered a restore to 08.
That works as expected for me.
I only have a problem with the restore not working on the first try.
In more detail:
When I restore from 09 to 08, a second instance of 09 opens in front, than the first instance of 09 is closing, than the file rename (the renamed 08 executable) appear in the app folder.
When I repeat the restore from 09 to 08, most of the time 09 opens.
If the restore still fail, I close the app with rename still in the folder.
I open 09 and do a restore to 08, 09 is closing first and 08 opens second.
The restore always works when rename exists before I start the app and perform a restore. -

I had to zip it as I get invalid file selecting the bck
