    3.3.8.02 Feedback

The new preview start time and the limit to max value is working well.

To preview the speed change in real time is also working.

And so the time lapse filter is also working great. Many thanks!
But the processed file end with _V0.mkv and is availabel for multiplexing.
It might be better to add _TL_(Factor).mkv or similar to it.
Is here multiplexing required as original audio is limited to factor 2 and generally make less sense like original subtitles?

    ---

Could you center the tow fps elements as it looks nicer.
Maybee also move the checkbox in front of the Hw-decoder text.
Does the red box area in filter also contain a function?

The integration of VirtualDub is working well.
But the frame has a gap at the right side at 1920 x 1080 resolution.
    Image
[Attachment 85567 - Click to enlarge]

    ---

    >> An alternative could be to insert a preview button instead of a cancel button, so the "Video image properties" window remain open for further visible changes.
    > This does not work because the filter chain can only be written after pressing the OK button.

Can't you add two actions when you click that Preview button?
First action is like a click on OK, next action the preview.

The file should of course not be made available for muxing, this is a bug, it will be fixed and the name_add as well.

    Will be done.

The HDR checkbox (for HDR sources only). I'll will move it down.

Thanks for caring. I noticed two other little things.

    Here are two closed clamps.

VirtualDub keep it's window position at the desktop.
ffplay start always centerd. Could it also remain it's last position and center when it's out of bound?

FFplay default start behavior is screen centered. I'll leave this so.

    DVD handling:

When you drop a vob to the Desktop Icon and click Yes, the rip section does not get loaded.
    Image
[Attachment 85593 - Click to enlarge]

The rip page could have a Quit button. Otherwise you need to x the app or start ripping and Abort, if you change your mind.
    Image
[Attachment 85594 - Click to enlarge]

When your source is a vob and you click Source on the Main page, the "Pssible DVD source" window pop up, with click on Yes, the rip section does not get loaded.

This happens, if the DVD is copy protected.
clever FFmpeg-GUI cannot handle protected DVD's.
I could implement a message for this case.

A message like that makes sense.
However, the test involves an unprotected DVD.
I was able to make a partial and complete DVD copy.

All is fine when you drop the vob into the page or use the Select source button.
Only the drop to the Desktop Icon is affected.

I can confirm that all of the above work as expected:

Time lapse files are not available for muxing any longer.
Time lapse files get _TLxFactor name_add.
    Center tow fps elements.
Move checkbox in front of the Hw-decoder text.
    HDR filter checkbox moved down.
Fixed frame gap at Cut page.
New Preview for video filters "Video image properties". That's a real advantage. Thank you very much.

The DVD copy protection Dialog also works.

"Search cut ponts" and the Preview does not work on W10. Chapters preview also does not work on W10.

There is a frame gap at 3840x2160 desktop resoltution:
    Image
[Attachment 85657 - Click to enlarge]

When you select "Use VirtualDub for KF search" and you dont complete that, the selection remain. It better fall back to use ffplay.

    ---

    DVD handling:
Now, the Rip section is loading when you drop files to the desktop icon. Also when you get back from the Main page. Ripping also works.

Working longer with it, it make more sense to Abort instead to Quit. Sorry!
    Image
[Attachment 85658 - Click to enlarge]

When you get back from the Main page and click Yes than Rip, Quit dont change to Abort.

Join is not working for vob files, but cuts get processed.

I can not mux created chapters for a vob source in any container.
I know that mpg and vob files cannot contain chapter data.
The app support 3gp, mkv, mp4, mov, webm.
    Quote Quote
  13. Program defaults to mkv format/container. I use mp4 a lot and have to change from mkv to mp4 every time. Is it possible to leave the format/container as the "last used"?

This would save me a lot of time. Thanks.

    Is this windows 10 32 bit (x86)?
If yes, then you also need a 32 bit (x86) ffmpeg.

Will add a fallback to ffplay in the event that the search for virtualdub2 is aborted.

    DVD handling:

Can you explain the process in more detail?

Join is not working for vob files, but cuts get processed.
I will see again if there is a way to merge the vobs. It doesn't work with the concat list.

I can not mux created chapters for a vob source in any container.
I have already noticed this error. Will be fixed.

This is already built in when muxing, and the last encoder used is displayed when encoding.

It is W10 64 bit and ffmpeg 64 bit. Perview in Video encoding and loosless Cut is working.

When your source is a vob, your at the Main page, click Source, the window for full or partial rip appear, you ckick Yes for full rip and have the Quit button in the bottom right corner, when you click on Rip the Quit button should change to Abort to abort the ripping process.

    ---

Littet text mistake. fps is frames per second. So it is Frames/s.

    Could be a font problem.
Try this commandline on this W10 computer

    Code:
    FFplay.exe -vf scale=720:360,drawtext=text='%{pts\:hms}" "%{pict_type}:fontfile=C\:/Windows/Fonts/segoeui.ttf:fontsize=20:box=1:x=(w-tw)/2:y=h-(2*lh) "input_video_with_full_path"

    I can't reproduce that here.
To get to the main page at all, the vob file must first be analyzed.
If I then click on main page and then on source, I get back to the start page with the analyzed and still loaded vob file.
No query opens and no rip is possible unless I select a new file.

  19. Using your code: The video plays centered, including the text box with the actual frame details. The text box is equal for W10/11 64 bit.

OK, then on your Win10 computer is missing arialn.ttf font. I'll change this font to segoeui.ttf.

    Hey, that's good news!

    ---

    Preview size for smaller videos:
640x480 files scale well at my desktop resolution of 1920x1080.
But DVD files like 720/704x576 are a bit too high with 2x zoom. Because the bottom taskbar covers a small part of the content. Additionally, the window title bar is not fully visible.
This isn't ideal if you need to crop, as resizing the preview window is always fiddly when it's out of bound. Switching from full screen and back is easy.

Could you check the desktop resolution and limit the preview zoom factor?

  24. subtitle is lost when joining two mp4 files. In ffmpeg the subtitle is saved when I use the "-c copy" command.

Please add -c copy to the mp4 joining process. Thanks.

What I meant is when the program is closed and opened again, it defaults to mkv, always. I use mp4 mostly to avoid problems with webvtt subtitles which no program seems to handle well. It would be nice when I open clever ffmpeg, it defaults to the last format I use, which is mp4. Thanks again.

Where (in what window) it defaults to mkv? What version do you use?

I'll change the scale behavior and start from height instead of width. The new settings will be 360, 480, 720, 1080.
In this way, the maximum height is always maintained.
For the settings, you should always remain one level below your screen resolution as the maximum size, e.g. select 720 for a 1920x1080 screen.

    Sounds good. Thank you!

    Not all streams are joined.
Depending on the source, only one audio and one subtitle stream will be merged. Sometimes no subtitles at all when there are a lot of them.
I can't find any logical yet. Most of the time the last audio and the first subtitel stream get joined.

    The processed cuts are fine.
