    1. After I added the mp4's to the Batch list for remuxing, I was presented with 150 AAC files in the list that had to either be hidden or removed.
As far as I can tell, there is no way to specify in the batch list a particular file type for selection nor is there a way to re-order the list to put all of the files of a particular type one after another, nor was I able to figure out a way to click on a single file, hold down shift, click on the last file and have all files in between be checked. This mean't I had to find and click all 150 files one by one.
From your description, I think you are referring to the Multiplex page and not the Batch Tasks page.
    - To select streams, you can use the All/none/First button.
    - You can also select/deselect streams by type (processed, source, added) clicking on the colored rectangles top right.
    - You can reorder single streams, changing her idx an clicking on swap button.

    2. I made a mistake and included a file that I should not have. The program detected the error and brought up a notification box. After clicking on the OK button of the notification box, all of the selected (checked) files were automatically unchecked meaning I had to start from scratch selecting the 150 files to remove or hide.
    See above.

    3. After remxuing, all of the newly created AC-3 files are deleted automatically. If I made a mistake, I would have to re-create all or some of them. Could you provide an option to not delete them?
You can change this behavior, selecting Clear selected rows (top right). This way, the entries are removed after muxing, but the files are kept.

So you could also batch fast start or remove or set a global title for multiple files.
This is problematic, because fast start works only with mp4/mov.
There are also container restrictions for global title.

EDIT: Sorry. I didn't see ProWo's reply! Maybe it will help anyway?

Options for manipulating the grid on the Multiplex page:

    ---

If you want to change the audio in many media files and keep the video and the modified audio stream (all processed streams need to have the same stream index #), you can do the following:
    - Load one of the files as the source, go to Extract Streams and select only the video stream, click To Batch and select Container (to creates separate, untouched streams for further multiplexing).
    - Open Batch Tasks, where this extraction task is now at the top of the list, drag and drop all the remaining media files at once, and click Execute.
    - Open Audio Encoding, set the desired changes, and click To Batch.
    - Open Batch Task, where this audio encoding task is now at the top, drag and drop all the remaining media files at once, and click Execute.
    - Open Multiplex, click on the column header Filemane to sort the list and bring the blue source streams to the top. Select only the blue source streams and hide them. Make your selections for Other Settings and Container. Click on "Mux whole grid" and confirm with OK. Then click on Multiplex and wait until all streams have been processed.
    Done!

Ah, I did not realize it kept the checkboxes kept when unhiding.
    My mistake.
    Thanks.

Yes, of course. I mean, only if the option is available and only if it is selected, it will be inserted into the Simple remux command line to batch.

Let's assume you get a video with both options available and create a batch task.
Now, in batch tasks, you can add any video to replicate batch0, also videos that are not compatible.
    Here lies the problem.

    My mistake.
I didn't realize that Simple remux keeps the original container.
    That's why there are incompatibilities.

  10. Hello Everyone,

ProWo was very generous to explain to me in Private Messages how to convert many MP4's to M2TS's without having to manually deselect all of the AAC audio components. Here is a generic version of his instructions. Again, a million thanks ProWo.

    1) Load the first of your mp4's into clever FFmpeg-GUI.

    2) Click Encode Audiostream,
make your settings to convert to AC-3,
    click To Batch.

    3) Click Batch Tasks,
drag the other mp4's to replicate batch 0,
    then click Main Page.

    4) Click Extract Streams,
    select the videostream only,
    click To Batch,
    confirm In Container with OK.

    5) Click Batch Tasks.
The video extract task should be at index xyz [where xyz is the total number of mp4's].
    Change it's idx to 0,
go to the top row and change the top row's idx to xyz.

    6) Click Swap Tasks.
The Video extract task should be on top of batch 0. If so, then

    7) Drag the other xyz-1 mp4's into the batch to replicate the videostream extraction.

    8) Click Execute.

    9) If it is done, then you should be in the Multiplex section.
Click None to deselect all streams.

    10) Click the blue Source rectangle (on top right) to select the source streams
    and then hide them.

    11) Check Mux Whole Grid
    and confirm with OK.
Note: If you want keep all files, select Clear Selected Rows (on top right over grid).

    12) Click Multiplex and wait until it has finished.
You will get another chance to delete some of the files after it finishes.

  11. ProWo advised me:

Please note that in Step 11 of the instructions above,
when you check "Mux whole grid," the grid itself is disabled to avoid manipulations,
and you will be unable to scroll to see all of the rows.

If you delete or rename the ffmpeg folder and start the app, this window will appear, but the link to ffmpeg is missing like at first start of the app.

I have a problem where downloaded video clips sometimes have trouble finding the exact cut positions.
Some files have an offset, others don't, and it's often worth correcting the timestamp or performing a simple remux or multiplex. The cut files work, but the start and end positions are incorrect, so cutting is a trial-and-error process.

So how about adding "Stay open" to the cut page?
When this option is enabled, all cuts can be processed or sent to batch, but the page remains open and all cut marks remain in the list, as do the last values for start and end.

This allows you to process all or just one previous cut again and again.
You can also delete previous cut marks and start over.

In my case, I can make a cut and preview the processed file with my default video player. If the start/end of the cut is incorrect, I can simply modify the last values for start and end time and keep trying until it meets my requirements.

Hello all. I am having a problem after updating to the newest clever FFmpeg-GUI 2026-01-05
    ffmpeg ffmpeg-2026-01-05-git-2892815c45-full_build
    clever FFmpeg-GUI version 3.5.0.03

I am rather stumped as the prior version when I did encodes and multiplex the output for hevc files were specified (hevc) and multiplex to quickly differentiate them. Now its these weird labels:
    $_V0
    _#1$_V0

It's driving me NUTS. I discovered how to address the deleting file issue with the new change which was bugging me to no end for days. While I am jumping back and forth with av1 and hevc as it is appearing to drastically change better for one or the other variant on "video" as some appear better with hevc than av1, and vise versa, this labeling has got to stop. How the hell do I fix the default labeling so I can quickly identify the output video and not have to constantly resort to "MediaInfo" for details over and over and over again?

I do want to say thank you for getting rid of the spam "ok" after each individual multiplex and conversions.
Prior version I was using: 3.2.6.0

I do still have the older version.

Appreciate any help in this matter.

This type of filename has been chosen for several reasons.
In the multiplex section, it is necessary to recognize all streams with the same name.
This is achieved by separating the filename from all suffixes with “$_”.
The additional numbering (e.g., “_#1”) is added if a file or batch task with the same name already exists, so that this file is not overwritten.
I will definitely not change this naming convention.

Most files that cause problems are ts files.
These should always be remuxed as mkv before cutting.
I have also noticed that many Internet clips have incorrect timestamps and variable frame rates.
    Cuts are problematic with these.
Many can be fixed by first determining the original frame rate with MediaInfo, then exporting the video stream as a raw stream, loading the raw stream, and entering the previously determined frame rate.
The audio stream usually does not need to be changed and can simply be remuxed to the new MP4.
The resulting file should not cause any problems when cutting.

So how about adding "Stay open" to the cut page?
I can do that, but you should try my suggestions first.

    3.5.1 feedback

When you open a raw video stream at the Main page, you get these two windows:

    Image
[Attachment 90887 - Click to enlarge]

    Image
[Attachment 90888 - Click to enlarge]

Would it make sense to combine these two windows into one?
    ---

When you add a raw video stream on the Mux page, you get this window:

    Image
[Attachment 90889 - Click to enlarge]

Would it make sense to ask for the probable frame rate here as well?
    ---

How about this text change on the Main page?
"A brief description (enable or disable this info in the settings):"
This way, the text "Ripping unprotected DVDs is also implemented." could be moved to a separate line.

No, because you can also reject the automatic correction.

No. Automatic correction (where the file is copied) is not possible during muxing.
The message only serves to enable muxing in the mp4 container to restore the duration information.
Restoration at this stage may also be incorrect.

No, because you can also reject the automatic correction.

    Ah, okay.

If I load an MP4 file with 25 fps and extract the raw video stream, then select this raw stream as the source and choose No in window 1, the stream is loaded with 50 fps as the source.
And no new corrected fps file is created as in window 2. Okay.
I can now open Video stream and make changes.
If I simply return to the Main page, the previous MP4 file is now the source and no longer the raw stream. Is this intentional?

This does not happen if you close and reopen the app and load the raw stream as source. But when you return from Video stream, you get window 1 again.
    ---

Could you center the text in the second window!

Will make little changes on this 2nd window and also refine the framerate detection on raw streams.

    I found the problem.
This only happens when the first action, loading the media file (mp4/mkv), is performed by drag & drop onto the app icon on the desktop. All other loading variations work without any problem.

    Here the text:

Your file has no duration information
and could cause problems during processing.

Yes, uses a corrected copy of the file
    with the automatic detected framerate
or enter the probable framerate (fps).

    No, continues without correction.
    ---

BTW. If you enter high numbers or characters in the second window, the automatically recognized value for fps will be used anyway.

Would it be possible to support encoding to vvc aka h.266?
