  1. Just an information: the last ffmpeg x86 build has been releasead on April 2023 (3 months ago), right? Is it correct ? Am I missing something ?

  2. Thanks ProWo. Is the link on GUI interface outdated (the last build is from April) ?

  3. Unfortunately there are less and less 32 bit ffmpeg builds offered. The most recent are the one linked in the gui and the one above (post #662).

Hi, prowo, could we be able to normalize the video take of television and other media, where audio captures will be low. By nature, when we take the video, audio is also captured but not exactly as it is derived from the original source.
When normally we open source, this shows video and audio , but will normalize work in these kind of audios.
Because, the video sound is slow when you take a video
    do i miss something.
i do not put it in forum posts as some do not understand the need of the user or capture the query mode.
Moreover, if i do not update correctly, the program never opens . Thanks

    Hi jraju,
Load your video in clever FFmpeg-GUI, click main, click encode audiostream, select the audio stream (if there are several), click volume detection. When that is finished, click got to the encoder.

To adjust the audio volume, there are now several options.

    1) Accept the detected value (in volume dB) and ckick encode.
    2) If this is not enough, check the LoudNorm checkbox, 1 pass is suggested, accept that, click OK and click encode.
    3) If this is still not enough, check the checkbox DynAudNorm instead of LoudNorm and click encode.

    Hi ProWo,
In the option Encode, Audio Stream, DynAudNorm, would it be possible to add the option "coupling, n"?
This is because many times the 6 channels are very unbalanced and even using DynAudNorm some channels have low levels.
    Thanks

  15. great little software!

i would like to suggest some filters to consider:

    https://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-filters.html#speechnorm
    https://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-filters.html#compand

(some discussion on these filters here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffmpeg/comments/15kiucp/ffmpeg_how_to_add_dialog_normalization_to_ac3_file/)

since "compand" doesn't require re-encoding, i'm not sure if it's possible to include certain presets/values oriented on dialogue normalization.

At the moment, the two extra channels are simply omitted.
I will add a switch to choose if the two extra channels should be downmixed or omitted.

i'm not seeing this option (selecting 5.1 for a 7.1 source still shows the same mapping setting with 2 channels greyed out).

unless, selecting 7.1 option for a 7.1 source produces a 5.1 encode with those channels mapped automatically?

edit: tried encoding a 7.1 source into eac3 with 7.1 channels selected and it produced a 5.1 file. is this the correct outcome?

If you use Remap, this function is not available, because you assign the individual channels manually. Therefore you can only assign 6 channels out of 8.
If you don't use remap, the option is offered before encoding.

    Tested.
    FFmpeg message:
Specified channel layout '7.1' is not supported by the eac3 encoder.
Therefore only 6 channels are possible with eac3.
Will remove the 7.1 channel option for eac3.

LoudNorm 2 Pass results in no file for me with this version (tried it a few times) - it says Done after the 1st pass (with no 2nd pass performed) but no file appears in the folder. didn't have this issue with the previous version.

    Thanks again for excellent software!

One feature request: add more AAC options such as type of bitrate encoding (TVBR, CVBR, ABR, CBR).
One suggestion: add ability to view command line parameters being used. Would be helpful for anyone interested in exact commands being used after deciding on all the options in the GUI.
