Easier Cap can it damage my VHS/DVD player

I've bought a cheapy easycap off e-bay, connected PC to my ancient Technika vhs/dvd player and for an hour it worked reasonably well having connected the audio and video sockets using equally ancient audio cables. However changed video tape and now all I can get is a sort of four frame split image-thinking my tapes were damaging the head on the player or the tracking was out I tried the DVD output and that has the same issue. Have I blown the output of my technika with excessive resistance using the audio leads or couold it be another issue?

The answer to the Q. you raised in your topic title is a simple NO !


But to test if your cables are at fault you change them and connect direct to a tv. But a cheap easycrap could still be the problem if all works fine at that point.
