I have transferred a commercially released PAL VHS of an American television programme. The footage appears to be interlaced. Are there any steps I should take to 'restore' the programme back to its original format, or should I just leave it?
I've attached a ten second clip, you should be able to see the interlaced frames.

It's a field-blend conversion, so the de-speedup info in that thread doesn't apply.
Avisynth's SRestore may help somewhat, but looking at the "shot change" it appears that partial blending was used, i.e. the bottom 1/3 of the screen is blended and then the top 1/3. There's never been a fix for this.
