  1. I've been searching the web, including this site, for weeks trying to find a solution to this problem. When I rip DVD files using MakeMKW and then remove the pulldown using TSMuxer, the video plays perfectly on my PC using VLC media player. When I try to play from an external hard drive with both the Oppo 103D and Panasonic UB420 they see the video as 24i and deinterlace when it should play as 24p. Is there a way to correct this so they play the video correctly without re-encoding? When I change the Oppo deinterlacing mode to Film instead of Auto or Video it looks fine, but I don't have that option on the Panasonic. I want to encode the video so that is plays as 24p regardless of player. Is there a way to accomplish this?

  2. The source video has hard pulldown (encoded as interlaced 29.97fps)? If so, then you shouldn't try and remove pulldown.

The only time you can successfully do that is if it was encoded as progressive 23.976fps with soft pulldown. MakeMKV might also be messing up the process. Can't you decrypt using a real decrypter and get VOBs, IFOs, and BUPs? That's how I do it, followed by making an MPG and removing pulldown using DGPulldown. And the DVD was always encoded as progressive to begin with. And they aren't 24i after I finish.

Perhaps upload 10 seconds from the source, maybe an M2V cut using DGIndex, so we can have a look.
