After much work, I finally have created a successfull set of VOB's for LOTR Divx Screener (640x272)
I have re-encoded to 640x480 and DVD patched the file to 720x480 and then authored in Maestro.
Now I have a set VOB's that equal 6.88GB
I need to create 2 DVD's for this project. Doom 9 ' s DVD-9 to DVD-5 guide really doesn't apply here because I have not created menus, trailers or any extras. this is just the video and the sound.
My questions:
How do I best author this to 2 DVD's?
After dividing the VOB's to fit on separate DVD's, Can I now rip the vob's to MPG's so I can use DVDIT! to author menus for this.(Prefer the ease of DVDit compared to Maestro)?
Additional INfo:
I have tried to use IFOEdit to Split to 2 DVD's. Because I only had the movie, no chapters... It only created one dvd again. (one directory with 6.88GB and the 2nd directory with nothing)
So I will have to make at least 2 chapters if not reauthor the whole thing. Anyway the question remains, when you are creating your own video that doesn't have predefined IFO files, how do you span 2 DVD's?
thanks,
corky

Well, why don't you add chapters in your movie? There is nothing worse than having to fast-forward your movie to the part that you want to see.
Simply add chapter points in Maestro (DVDit PE couldn't make an accurage chapter point to save its ass) then use IFOEdit to split to two DVD-Rs (You must split on a cell/chapter point to avoid navigation errors - ie, you must give it a stopping point).
