How to use MediaInfo results in Handbrake?

Hi,

I have some H265 files that once were encoded with Handbrake but I don't know the original settings. All I have is the result from MediaInfo which looks like this:

I get from this that CRF 24 and preset medium was used (because of rc-lookahead=20).
That's what I put Handbrake and I also replace / (and the surrounding spaces) with simply : and add it to the Advanced Options in the video settings.
But the resulting encode from a test file has now a different MediaInfo result:

Some settings are new, some are missing and some are different.


Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to use the original settings from the first MediaInfo result for new encodes? If so, how exactly?

The settings for the preset might have changed
If you want the exact same settings you have to enter them all manually

I set preset Medium and CRF to 24 and also entered all the settings manually in the Advanced Options field like I said. Somehow he doesn't accept these options or at least not all of them.

Don't use presets or CRFs. Enter everything manually.
But... why don't you just use the new settings for the preset, they might have been changed for a reason

Is there another option on how to change the video / encoder related settings on Handbrake?

Why are those settings so special/needed?

Likely a little bit of OCD kicking, but I want them all with the same settings, if possible.

Also I want to know how it works, what needs to be done to get the MediaInfo results into Handbrake and get the same MediaInfo results in the output video.

The only way to reliably get the same results is to use the cmd line.
Don't use Handbrake, use x265 via cmd line

Try Vidcoder or StaxRip and see if that is any better
