  1. Hi,

I'm new to video editing, and trying to remove the music from a sequence in the Avengers movie. I've got the movie clip with 6 channels, however when I import it into Audacity I can't mute the music, because all the tracks contains both music and sound effects. Is this normal, and is there some other way around this?

I've attached a random sequence from the movie, if anyone wanna have a look.

    Thanks!

WHat you see is completely normal, there are no separate music/effects layers or channels. There's also no software that can tell the difference.

  3. The different audio tracks are to produce spacial effects, they are the same recording (or studio edit of it) but taken from microphones pointing in different directions. They are not different component parts of the sounds you hear but each contains a portion of the whole with appropriate delays and levels to reproduce the surround sound effect.

  4. That makes sense. So I guess there is no way to remove the music then, bugger :\

    But thanks anyway!
