I ripped a DVD just to see if it would work, with Smartripper. Setting was with Macrovision off and Region free. (Used the Backup Disc function on a single-layer disc.)
I set Nero to burn as UDF/ISO DVD-ROM ISO Level 2 ISO 9660 (Relax restrictions UNchecked).
The final disc works fine in my PC (both the DVD-R and DVD-ROM drives), and my Apex, but not in my Panasonic DVD player nor my Mac.
Can Smartripper's Macrovision and Region free settings screw things up?
Or should I just Nero's UDF setting instead of UDF/ISO? Are there any special UDF setting parameters that need to be set?
Or should I just use neoDVD's copy disc function (on my ripped files) to make a DVD?
DVD-ROM is Pioneer 104F
DVD-R is Panasonic LF-D311

P.S. Two other points:
1) My "video_ts" directory was in lower case
2) There was no "audio_ts" directory
Could either of these cause the problems? -
I used Smartripper with de-Macro and de-Region, dragged all files into Nero's DVD-Video template's VIDEO_TS folder. Burned, worked perfect. Try using the DVD-Video option in the latest version of Nero. That should give you better compatibility.

For the highest compatibility, always use the old DOS 8.3 (FILENAME.EXT) naming conventions, and always use capital letters in directory and file names.

Make sure that you use FILES in Smartripper to get ALL the files (in MOVIE, you don't get everything that you need). Drag THESE files to NERO. This should give you success.
Check the number of files in the VIDEO_TS directory on your burned disk... the check the number on the original. Let us know if they are the same. -
Also make sure that the media you are using isn't crap. If you are using the $2.00 DVD-R's that could be your problem. Stick with the Apple disks or the Pioneer and you won't have any problems........
