Is it possible to copy a dvd movie on to a usb stick, so that it's watchable on a portable dvd player?

  2. If, as you say, you have a portable dvd player, would you not actually run the dvd on it?

You'll probably have to convert to the video to whatever file type and container the player supports. Check your manual for details.

yes but it depends. If your portable DVD player supports MKV container then you could simply use MakeMKV to make a mkv of the movie title. No menu's etc... That's probably the quickest and simplest. If the player doesn't support MKV then check the manual to see what format it does support
