I was watching a video "Framing John Deleorean" & paused it at a (single frame?) image that I would really like to convert to a png/bmp/jpg (still) image. I wrote down location (1:46:19-not exactly this example, but this format). This was last nite, I have not tried yet, but I'm sure I can locate exact location with DVDShrink, etc. It was on screen for fraction of a second, if it was longer I could maybe get a ["printscrn"] of it & create an image. It was just sheer chance I paused where I did.

    What to do??

  2. i'm pretty sure almost any video player can do frame by frame, for example in VLC it's "E" for next frame (if you missed a frame go back a second and do it again)

  3. In MPC-HC, pause the video just before the frame you want, go CTRL/Right Arrow to advance a frame at a time to the exact frame. Then go File->Save Image and take your pick of BMP, PNG, or JPG.

    VirtualDub works best.
Go to the frame you want, Video > copy frame to clipboard
    Then paste into Photoshop/etc.

Players like VLC tend to blur/etc the image, VirtualDub gives original file quality frame.

But the original VirtualDub by Avery Lee can only read AVI. VirtualDub2 supports more source formats due to an ffmpeg based input library.

In "Framing John Deleorean", they used a clip from 'Back to the Future'. Was when they either sent Einstien (the dog) back or when he returned. The lic plate came off & spun like a dervish, too fast to actually read.

edit: Yeah Marty McFly - In a Delorean. When they 1st wrote the movie script, it was a converted refrigerator to be the machine, but Deloreans coke bust happened, script was changed to the car, , , ,

The German scientist Albert Einstein was written with e-i. And so is the dog as well, I bet. Looks weird?
