uploading video from sd card

I use trailcams , one of which is a Bushnell Core DS No Glow Trail Camera.
Putting sd card from my other trailcams into laptop , it goes to Picasa where I store and edit my pics and videos.
The card from the Bushnell Core DS No Glow Trail Camera does not do this but goes to VLC .
I can't find a way to import those videos to Picasa which I am well used to using but can't get it to accept video from the Bushnell Core DS No Glow Trail Camera.
I suspect it is to do with file type but can't figure it out.

What is the file type? Is it video? You can post a mediainfo report.

Picasa stopped being developed or supported several years ago. (I loved it.) You may want to consider moving on.

File type is MP4 Video File (VLC) (.MP4)
The video files Picasa does load from cards from other trailcams is Audio Wave Format MPEG 0 bit 44.1K , video H264
Not keen to leave Picasa but can you suggest an alternative I might look at ?

There is no great replacement for Picasa. Lightroom is far more powerful for photos but is harder to use. TMPGenc Karma is a decent video organizer. Windows Photo Gallery maybe. Try a few.

Picasa's organizer/image editor/player combination doesn't really exist any more.

have you tried right clicking on the file - open with - and selecting picassa?

Picasa never read mp4s natively. It required external codecs.
