  1. First of all thanks for any reply great site!

    I use easydivx0.81
    very easy to use I have to say and it creates very good AVI format from my DVD
    I set it to 2 cd's (635Mb)and let it run (divx5.01codec constant bitrate)

    I use nero and try to make an SVCD

    and here it is where I go wrong (less quality)shunky parts
    I try to make from cd 1 after easydivx081 sized (666Mb)
    a SVCD fit on 79min and let it encode.

    The quality is not what I expected which setting do I have to use to gain the same quality as the superb made AVI thru easydivx081

    the output easydivx avi is

    audio
    audio format= Mpeg layer3
    average data rate= 16.00Kb/second
    sample rate= 44.100 Khz
    channels= 2 stereo

    video
    streamname= mpeg2avi{IDCT32MMX}'-q0'
    framewidth= 720pixels
    frameheight= 576pixels
    playlenght= 2724.720seconds
    framecount= 68118
    framerate= 25frames/second
    datarate= 233.110 Kb/sec
    videosample size= 24bits
    videocompression= divx codec

    If more info needed please let me know?

    Thanks for all replies!

  2. well might want to use a different codec as divx is a VERY lossy codec and often loses sync when converted to mpeg

  3. Which codec and program would you suggest to use?
    And can It be coded straight from the dvd to Mpeg2 which Nero can burn as SVCD is suchs a program available and what setting would I have to use

  4. i'd use either sefy's guide or doom9's, you can find both in the dvdrip section. and maybe not use nero 5.5.8.0 seems to be less compatible than previous versions...

  5. paulhoopen, why are you encoding to DivX and then to SVCD ??? that is a complete waste of time and quality! encoder straight to SVCD or VCD, i'd recommand you follow the guides and see how it goes for you.
