Dark Theme

Why don't we have a dark theme at videohelp? Every one else is getting it.

I started using computers when all computer screens were monochrome (green, amber or white) with a black background and light letters. Yuck. I will be sticking with the original theme colors but to each his own.

However, I did try the "dark theme" and have a suggestion. Yellow highlights surrounding white letters make for difficult reading. Can the highlight be a different color for the dark theme?

I don't like any dark theme at all so it's hard to design.....

Remember to force reload the page(CTRL-F5) after you changed to the dark theme. I'm making a lot of small changes...

It's tricky to get the "correct" dark color background and not too bright text colors.

I'm testing on 3 different computers/monitors and it looks different on all....

Anyway, dark theme here is very good, not perfect, of course, almost all dark themes has some issues...

- mail and report icon is too dark
- highlighting the "Feedback", "Top" and perhaps some other buttons has dark red text, which is not good readable
- selected text background color is "too white"

But wrong gray dark colors or is the orange top color too ugly?

And it would help with an example page with a nice dark theme. I have never seen one.

Bold titles are ok but I find the main text "white" too dim. Not enough contrast with the gray background but I don't mind the orange highlights.

That said I always found the current regular pages background and the text font much too soft gray. I would have prefrred the text to be blacker to stand out more. I know that is probably on me. Old eyes need more contrast but I find it hard to read for a long time the way it is now.

Thanks. The yellow background with white letters is gone with the latest dark theme. The new settings use orange letters on a gray background when a selection is highlighted. (I forgot to mention I had first noticed the problem when I was viewing my profile and forum settings.)

Making the white text a bit whiter. Use CTRL-F5 to force reload.
