Hey all!! I'm hoping someone here can give me advice on what I need to purchase for a project that has been requested of me. Basically our congregation is wanting to start recording services. I would like to configure it with the following requirements:
record to a computer
Utilize audio from the sound board (to hear the sermon clearer).
Manage camera functions from computer (start/stop recording, zoom, etc).
I know computers well, but I am very out of my element with camera's. Could someone suggest what camera equipment I would need to accomplish this. I'm not looking for the highest quality camera or anything, just something to record clear video with a stationary camera.

I'll ask the same thing I've asked just about every other inquiry of this nature:
1. What is your intended application (streaming, broadcast, live playback, DVD/BD, etc)?
2. Who are your intended audiences?
3. What is the expected target equipment capability?
4. WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET?
5. WHAT IS YOUR TIMELINE?
6. What level of understanding do you (or any associates you might have) have regarding camera equipment, sound equipment, lighting equipment, producing/directing, editing, etc.?
