I downloaded JMkvpropedit to my Windows 10 PC & have tried to remove the titles within various MKVs so that they match the actual titles I have given them, but the program doesn't do a thing? I tried a few other tests, such as removing chapters to see if that works, but it didn't.
What am I missing here? I've got MKVToolnix, & I know this program is a GUI for Mkvpropedit, but I have seen no info anywhere about where to actually put the software, nor other instructions on how to get it up and running properly?

you need java runtime to run this program, do you have it installed? if not:

You can do it in MKVToolnix -- just load the file in highlight the video and look in the right hand panel and change as required, do this for the audio track/s as well. Also look in the Output and Attachments panels

I have Mkvpropedit within my MKVToolnix folder, comes with it and I don't have java runtime. It all works.

I've got Java as well but still doesn't work. I don'tr know what I need to do to get this to work under Mkvpropedit, which is basically to remove the title embedded in MKVs so that I'm only using the ones I actually see? I know I can do it with MKVToolnix but that's only one at a time.

There is probably a batch mode in MKVToolnix but I've not used it. Check this out https://forums.plex.tv/t/how-to-remove-tag-spam-and-set-language-in-several-mkv-files-at-once/235537

In JMkvpropedit's "General" tab you can select the mkvpropedit.exe location at the bottom. To remove the Title element enter "--edit info --delete title" in the "Extra parameters" field. In the "Output" tab there is a log - post it here if it still does not work like expected.

What do you mean by "titles I have given them"? File names?Last edited by sneaker; 26th Oct 2019 at 03:44.

I mean the file names. I was very tired when typing that and couldn't think.
I have done this but nothing happens to the file & nothing shows up in the Output Tab? -
Is MKVToolNix properly installed? What version? What OS are you using? Is there no error message if you click "Process files"?
-
Yes, it is properly installed & I have the current 64bit Windows 10 as well as 64bit Java.

There was no error messages. However, I just deleted the software then reinstalled it in the same place & it now works! Don't know what happened before?
