Drive recovery programs aren't very good. That file is probably corrupt. Does MediaInfo show anything about that file? Are all the files showing the same thing? The longer the file the less likely it is to be recovered properly. Do you have any very short SWF videos that are viewable?

  4. That appears to be h.264 elementary streams, not an SWF file. Rename it with an .h264 extension and see if you can do anything with it.

simply change the .swf to .h264 or using ffmpeg?

  6. Just change the extension in Explorer. Some media players won't play .h264 files. Try VLC -- I know it will play them.

  9. I don't know anything about repairing .swf files but I do remember that Irfanview which is a Photo Program had a plug in for playing .swf files.

I wish both these guys with the .swf files would have made a copy of all the files and then worked on the copies until they got the results by remuxing or converting that they desired. I don't know if it is of any use but I remember that the Video To Video Converter has a way of changing the extension on the end of a file without taking much time but it would alter the file beyond that I believe on the frame rate or some other aspect. I remember I had a bunch of .flv files and I had to change them to .mp4 files because the Blu Ray player wouldn't allow me to skip ahead or pause the video when it came to certain .flv files. But I leave it to people like Jagabo to see if there is anything of worth in what I wrote as they know much more and that is why I suggested working on copies of the originals in case you make a mistake you can't back out of.

Video To Video Converter does have a way of converting .swf to just about any other file type. Perhaps make a copy of your .swf file and try converting to a format you can edit. I better stop writing now and hopefully something I wrote more knowledgable people can use to help you guys. Don't do anything until they chime in as I don't want to make a situation worse.
