In which format do you store your footage for backup?
I will record home movies w/ digital camcorder and then transfer Through firewire DV to one of the following progs: Premiere, Pinnacle studio, Ulead...
My question is, what is a good format to store the footage in?
(Example...This afternoon I will record my daughters first soccergame and convert the DV to MPEG for burning a VCD. However, what if I later want to do something different with that file and I only saved it in MPEG and not MPEG2 for example.)
Do most of you store DV tapes or footage or do you store the DV on DVD-RAM or do you save the footage as lossless AVI's? what is best?

Personally, I like to create a video tape backup recorded on SP. I don't know if there's a way to do that with your camera or not and get the video back to your computer. If there's not, I'd store in AVI. Althought the size is huge, the data is better to work with in the raw form. But, I am one of many.
