Hello ladies and gentlemen,
with your helps, I managed to recreate subtitles with special effects (thanks to aegisub), and they are perfect when read on my PC, via VLC.
Now, when put on an USB Key, and read via a TV-Box, the mkv file is read only with a single character font. And some effects are lost.
Do I have to hard-sub my files? (It could work, with Xvid4PSP, or XMedia Recode, I know, but my files are gigantic: sometimes 40 gigabytes... that would last many hours.)
Or is there another way to read these FX? I am thinking of reading my video files on a PC that would be connected to my TV. Alas, I have old materials, it's a PITA to do this.
Any help would be great.

MX Player supports .ass subs. It's my go to player on Android.
Edit: You could cast your videos from your PC to your box with something like Cast to TV
Edit 2: Forgot. VLC on your PC can also stream to your box.
