  1. Hi all! I'm new to video capturing and editing. I just purchased the ATI Wonder 7500 w/Ulead Studio 5. I plug my 8mm analog and captured 1 minute of footage. I'm using the NTSC format (US) I've transferred the same 1 min footage to a VHS tape. The VHS tape looks good, but the SVCD doesn't look as good and the VCD looks even worse. I've watched VCD movies and they look decent. I'm guessing my settings are wrong. Can anyone suggest the best settings to capture and burn a vcd or svcd.

  2. Hello Danl, I'm kinda new to this as well....I can however answer your question. I ran into the same thing. What you need to do is capture in a larger bitrate setting and then use tmpgenc to encode to vcd. In other words, capture a huge file and then encode to a smaller file....the results are very good. I never use the vcd setting with the AIW.....terrible. Look to the left under the "how to" header and read up on converting. Hope this helps, Andy
