Hi there,
I'm a newbie and not sure which category/discussion to post this in. Would really appreciate some help. I'm having an issue on my father's 2017 macbook pro. For some reason certain video files (so far, rather weirdly, only a collection of james bond films I have downloaded) are playing normally, but with a very annoying graphics anomaly. The videos play with the bottom section of the video area, beginning at a seemingly arbitrary point, playing only in vertical lines. This pattern seems to repeat the pixels downwards from the latitude at which the graphical error begins. Not sure how else to describe it. I'm sure there's a name for this kind of graphics error, but I haven't been able to find it. For simplification I have attached two screenshots of what happens. The files are 2160p .mkv, encoded with h.265, and they are playing with latest version of VLC.
