Downloading videos from streaming sites (recent change in coding issue)

hi
its more of a embedded video issue but after trying all and i mean over 30 different browser plug ins and video downloading software. i cant seem to find one that i can download videos from*https://kimcartoon.si
the issue comes down to the videos have been embedded(or something) in to the page and as you will see it has different options for servers to stream from. i prefer to downloading using "video downloader professional" and i havent had any issues until recently.
i would love a simple chrome extension but as i stated above. ive tried them all and none of them seem to work
the only one that seemed to work is tubedigger but its very messy and only works 50% of the time.
could some one at least give me a explanation why the old methods dont work any more and maybe even suggest a work around.

FYI ive used a pc mac chrome and firefox

The VideoDownloadHelper plugin for firefox/chrome and Stream Detector plugin can pick up .m3u8 stream from this site,if you choose Oserver from the list.

For example, this episode:
https://kimcartoon.si/Cartoon/Galaxy-Goof-Ups/Episode-013-captain-snerdley-goes-bananas?id=35755

And if you choose server: Oserver (2nd in the list), any of those plugins should give you .m3u8:

https://s22.openstream.io/hls/qvsbezv7ndblgwsztqeka2gtk4i733xhc7wf4cas2rgpacqqt4be557a...yq/master.m3u8

VideoDownloadHelper plugin should save the video,but if for some reason it fails,you can use streamlink instead:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Streamlink\bin>streamlink "https://s22.openstream.io/hls/qvsbezv7ndblgwsztqeka2gtk4i733xhc7wf4cas2rgpacqqt4be557avxyq/master.m3u8" best -o episode.ts

Some episodes are available in 720p,so streamlink will get that.

It's the only way it works so far.

Thank you so much. this has worked!!! its weird because i thought i tried this method before and it didnt come up with anything other than the small 1mb files for ads etc.

the only thing thats change is weirdly a new mac (came through the post today) and the extra program that it asked to download.

either way. thanks a lot. its a real cat and mouse game like the ads vs ad blockers of the world.
