  1. I have a movie in high def in h264 but the audio is 2 channel stereo or all channel stereo when my receiver plays. I have the movie on DVD and ripped out the ac3.

It's been so long since my A/V days.

1st tried Handbreak thinking I could just add a track and have it mux the 5.1 audio replacing the all stereo in the MP4

What about TMPGEng? It used to be a good tool for muxing in 2005 lol.

You can replace the 2.0 audio with the 5.1 AC3 stream by using ffmpeg, or MP4Box, or L-Smash's remuxer.
There is no need to reencode the video.

P.S.: if you prefer the Matroska container, use MKVtoolnix.

All right! Thank you for those tools! Off to check them out now. I know ffmpeg (it's in the y-t downloader) but am new to MP4Box and L-Smash.
