Is it possible to create anamorphic videos with TMPGEnc? And is it possible to use anamorphic videos in VCDs?

if you are doing the ripping yourself I don't know how to do it.
but if you downloaded a avi file and it's already in widescreen then you just leave your settings aloneWe were all NEWBIES once and the only stupid question is the one that's not asked? -
Anamorphic widescreen requires that your DVD player or TV will honour a non-4:3 display aspect ratio for your VCDs. Most widescreen TVs can probably be forced to do this. Your average DVD+TV combo probably cannot.
Although you can set the DAR of a S/VCD to be 16:9 (e.g., like most anamorphic widescreen DVDs), your average DVD player may simply ignore it as S/VCDs only support (in the specs) a DAR of 4:3.
