  1. Title says it all. I normally work with wav files but this time the files in question are already mp3 files and I want to avoid further loss in quality while retaining the mp3 container. I couldn't care less about the ID3 tags. If there is a quick way to do this with audacity (which I already have installed) that would be ideal.
