  1. hello,

i'm quite new at this so please apologize my ignorance. i read most of the how-tos and faqs already but still have no idea of how i could solve my problem. if any of the wizards could help it'd be greatly appreciated.
    here's the scenario:

i recorded a concert of 5.5 hours (13GB) of mpeg2 with a digital satellite receiver.
out came three files: .m2v (video), mp2 (sound) and .mpg (video+sound).

while recording some errors occurred, the log said the following:

    02:11:17: error in picture references!
02:11:19: muxer paused while trying to re-synchronize video DTS
02:11:19: video frame PTS differs from PTS data by 0:00:01.040 (2/10)
02:11:25: video really got async - avoid working with your PC while recording and/or check your environment
02:11:25: readjusted video frame DTS by 0:00:01.040 to 1:21:30.320 - muxer resumed

the result is a scarcely visible flickering, audio is flawless. so far everything is fine. of course i want to make a divx of a part of the large file.

in order to avoid converting the whole monster, i split the 13GB .mpg into 4 smaller files (hj-split - worked fine) the first of which i encoded to .avi with vidomi (divx3.11a codec). it came out as a 820MB avi. now this avi is ok until the forementioned error. difference: it seems as if some pictures are missing -> sound is ok but video is ahead of sound at constant rate from then on.

    anyone?
can i insert some blank frames somehow without quality loss?

thanx a lot for your help.

  2. Open the original vid in premeire and razor cut the audio and move it as necessary. Export directly from there, either cce pluging, avisysnth or divx.

  3. thanks for your answer.

as i wrote in the initial posting, the sound is absolutely flawless. and since ist's a concert i'd like to leave it that way.

is there no way to move the video back maybe half a sec? i wouldn't mind having a black screen there.

    thanks again.
