Movie plays but no subtitles. Can this be fixed and how?

Most players can't play DVD subs. You need to convert to SRT.
 https://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_subtitles_from_sub-idx_to_srt.cfm
 https://www.guidingtech.com/57604/convert-idxsub-dvd-subtitle-srt/

Or download SRT subs from one of the popular sub sites.

	Stab in the dark here.

Convert the movie to MKV and add the subtitles.
Move the movie onto a USB flash drive.
Hopefully your TV has a USB port.
Go into settings/tools, whatever, on your TV and make sure show subtitles are on.
