  1. I have a movie that needs to be cut in order to be burned on a 80min cd-r. When I open it in Vdub 1.4.10 I get the following error:

VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source avi file and will rewrite the audioheader with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 243015 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 128.1 +/- 28.2 kbps)

I'm a total newbie to VDub. I cut some divx file before with help from the guides here. But this is the first time I got this and when I did try to cut it, the audio was really out of sync.

This is a divx5 file btw, if anyone could give me steps by steps on how to decompress the audio stream then recompress it into my video file I'd appreciate it. thanks !

  2. audio, full processing mode
    video, direct stream copy
    audio, compression, pcm uncompressed
file save as avi... new name

    edit it now, ....

if you want vbrmp3 then rip the wav off, encode it to vbrmp3 then add it later with nandubmp3...or...

if you want cbrmp3, then open new edited file, direct stream on vid and choose mp3 compression (full processing) for audio.
