I am making a backup of a dvd that contains english subtitles. The subtitles are present when I play the dvd but not in the finished MP4 copy
when I used the Video VTS files to make an mp4 backup of the dvd the subtitles did not copy over. When I looked in the AUDI O TS folder it was empty.
Can someone ventur a guess as to what the problem might be?

Does it have to be MP4? For example, MakeMKV will keep the subs.
However, when reencoding you ordinarily have to add in the subs yourself. It's not automatic. This means first extracting the subs from the DVD and then adding them to whatever program you're using. You might also mention the program so someone that's used it can help.
