  1. Hello! I am looking for a recommended video capture card for capturing BetaSP. I will be ripping PAL tapes. What's the best card to use? (I am new to this stuff) I am looking for the best video possible. My player also has XLR audio out but I can record that on its own with my Tascam audio recorder.

For best quality, you shouldn't be going S-Video, but rather component (Y, Pb, Pr). That's what BetaSP primarily puts out.

If your J-3 has SDI output then the capture card is already there, All what you need is a transfer dongle -See picture- from digital SDI to USB 3.0 (SDI contains the audio already), If it doesn't then component or S-Video is the second best option.
