  1. When playing a tape, the screen is blue UNLESS I fast forward, reverse, pause...then I can see the picture. Whats the issue?

    Could be dirty heads. Or bad tape tension or busted electronics.

  3. two questions, 1. where is the adjustment for tension and 2. is the pinch roller suppose to come micro close to the capstain.
    i have been trying to find a pic of a handicam with casette loaded so i can see how its suppose to be.

    The tensioner should be something on the supply reel. The gap between the capstan and the pinch roller during FF/RW
    should be enough that the tape is not fouled by it; it depends on the design.

    Perhaps you should let a repair shop take a look
