    Someone, somewhere in the subtitling community is using some really screwed up software that splits all multi-line entries so every line is its own entry. Even worse, when it splits them it duplicates the timestamp. Could be converting, poorly, from closed captions.

    Some players will do weird things with those subtitles. PotPlayer inverts the order of them, displaying the earlier duplicate entry on the bottom then stacks the later ones above it.

    Oddly, MKVToolnix GUI's multiplexer *does not* throw any errors on *duplicate* times, only on *overlapping* ones or ones where the end time is earlier than the start time.

    Is there any SRT cleanup or fixer or editor software that can fix this?

    Turn this

    1
    00:00:07,120 --> 00:00:08,030
    - Previously,

    2
    00:00:07,210 --> 00:00:08,030
    on "The Magicians"...

    3
    00:00:09,090 --> 00:00:12,030
    - A huge reservoir of magic

    4
    00:00:09,090 --> 00:00:12,030
    hidden underneath the castle?

    5
    00:00:12,050 --> 00:00:15,000
    - Where does it lead?

    6
    00:00:12,050 --> 00:00:15,000
    To Roderick's secret chamber?

    7
    00:00:15,000 --> 00:00:16,050
    - The Binder had a theory.

    8
    00:00:16,070 --> 00:00:19,280
    When a being of great power

    9
    00:00:16,070 --> 00:00:19,280
    such as a God is killed,

    Into this. Note that entry 7 is supposed to be one line, becomes the new entry 5
