    posting the make/model would help...

You are taking the wrong video out, you are using the color separation ones and you want composite video out.

My memorex and oritron both have both sets of outputs, and both have 2 video outs for composite also.

My friends made the same mistake. If that isn't the problem, then I would be surprised, so describe it better what is wrong.

  3. well my DVD player is unfutunatly a no name brand

on the box it says Classic DVD player "classic" being the name i assume...the warrenty card is for Mustek so thats the best i can do with that...

and i have gotten certain VCD's to work when i burned a bunch of MPEG music video's from my computer they worked great...just the mvoies i rescently downloaded seem to have the problem....its not in the cables because the DVD player plays normal DVD's in color...im almost positivite i may have to do with mpeg compression but could be way off....this is a very very very strange problem..

download and assemble and burn the sample VCD here on this site.

If it doesn't work your player may be screwed-up.

I searched - for you - and Classic is a brand, the model number may be pressed on the bottom or back of the unit. Regardless there are comments on the Mustek Players pages here that may help, and there was a result for Classic at regionfreedvd.net .

Make sure it plays or doesn't play the VCD sample here, and re-setting the machine may help. I assume you enabled it to play VCD.

Next time you leave unplug the thing, and plug it in later. I read about this helping the Apex players and may help you too, when jumping from format to format.

Oh, and get VCD gear (GUI), it's a little program. It will identify your problem mpeg and see if it is VCD STANDARD or not. use one interface, drag the title in there and click on it, the statistics will appear on the left. If not convert to the correct VCD format using TMPGenc and a guide here.

    Let us know what happens.
