  1. hello all im using a blackmagic intensity 4k for my vhs transfers and im very happy with the quality but i keep getting alot of video drop outs and black flashing screen when capturing ... do any of you know a better alternative that is better with analogue input please

    The BMD products work OK if you have a strong clean broadcast complaint signal. Most VCR and camcorders from Best Buy will not give you that for VHS tapes. The Intensity Shuttle needs a TBC more often then not. I use an Intensity Shuttle for playback but I use an ADVC 110 for capturing VHS tapes. You would expect a little better from BMD when you consider the price of their products.

    You might do better with a cheap USB dongle and a chip dedicated to SD capture. Avoid EZCap.

  7. Often recommend around here are the Diamond VC500 and Hauppauge USB Live 2.

    With or without TBC, Blackmagic has infamous known is with SD material.
    But with a better card, you'll still need TBC.
