  1. Hi,

Looking for software advice. I have given up on Google after too many 'free' apps were hidden free trials with watermarks and nothing I've tried quite does everything I want anyway. Please help!

I'm happy to pay within reason (ie. not Adobe). Windows Movie Maker did everything I want but unfortunately is no longer available and I've changed PC since.

    Requirements are:

    1. Image stabilisation - lots of unavoidable camera vibration caused by the wind.
    2. Cut and combine clips, obviously.
    3. Remove sound and ideally add a soundtrack - most videos just have the sound of the wind or me jabbering away.
    4. Maybe add some text.

For those interested as part of my job I film wildlife by attaching my smartphone to a spotting scope on a tripod, just for recording behaviour mostly but it's nice to be able to edit something simple together to show the public on social media every once in a while. It doesn't have to be anything special - the footage isn't great anyway as it's usually shot from a mile or so away which is why image stabilisation is particularly important. As a benchmark the stabilisation in movie maker was pretty adequate.

    Thanks

Whats your audio/video format? Probably .mov video.
You might try the freeware VirtualDub2. It should be able to do all that.

Other members may have better suggestions.

    And welcome to our forums.
