    when i browse the audio file, it only gets the video..

  2. hm, be a little more specific, please :-).
    What is Your source material? An AVI file? Does it have something like "AC§" in the File name or the NFO file? Perhaps the audio track is encoded this way (although it shouldn't be on screeners).

  4. so it seems obvious that the audio track was encoded in ac3 format. there are several tutorials on this site how to convert ac3 into wav for encoding with tmpeg. i use virtualdub and headac3he (olso BeSweet is very popular). of course, you need some ac3 decoders to listen to the avi's sound as well.
    You need to save the audio track with virtualdub in direct copy mode and name the file xxx.ac3. Afterwards You should use headac3he to convert the .ac3-file into a wave file.
    there is described a method to change the priority of the directsound reader of tmpeg somewhere on this page which should enable tmpeg to read the ac3 track directly from the avi, but this method never worked for me.
