Must be a strange keyboard mapping thing from where you live, as there is no such thing as a [Cancel] key here! Do you perhaps mean "Backspace"?

Please go catch a mouse and quit posting with this juvenile, annoying, and utterly pointless "I am a cat" introduction. Why do you do this??

In order to get what you want:
Ctrl+Shift+Esc
(Win7 and Win 10) Don't have XP to test. -

The Windows 10 keyboard shortcut for Task Manager is Ctrl+Shift+Esc. The cat should learn learn a new trick.
Switching the functions assigned to Ctrl+Alt+Del and Ctrl+Shift+Esc might require editing the registry and is probably a bad idea.Last edited by usually_quiet; 13th Feb 2019 at 17:09.

And if he is getting full-screen from this (as it appears he is) he has probably screwed up his system.
This (insert your own word here) does not want help. He needs help.
Practically everything he asks 'help' for is available all over the place if he was arsed to actually look for himself. That is not his purpose. It is to annoy. To seek attention.
It would be better if all were simply to ignore him as many have done. He is beyond help in here.
Expect his to reply that he needs this now as a COMMAND.
Here is a line for every one of your batch files

All problems instantly solved. -
As I have said before, what gets me - beyond the incessant felino-philia - is the quite pointless Rube Goldberg approach to any process.
I will still attempt to help occasionally if it behooves, and am in ease of mind to overlook the BS. But that kind of behavior is a surefire way to wear one's welcome, which is why I will neither pour out assistance nor take the bait and engage in banter with him/it.

Does he mean ?

Anyway cats have no place in this forum -
He's talking about the fullscreen menu that appears when the user presses Ctrl+Alt+Del in Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.
I looked it up, and it appears that opening Task Manager with Ctrl+Alt+Del is an oddball feature/bug that is restricted to Windows XP. if XP was configured to use the Welcome Screen for login, Task Manager would open if the user pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del. Otherwise, XP opened the Windows Login window.
Ctrl+Shift+Esc is the official keyboard shortcut for Task Manager in XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. Wanting to replicate an 18-year-old OS bug to avoid memorizing the real keyboard shortcut makes no sense. I agree. He needs help.Last edited by usually_quiet; 14th Feb 2019 at 13:02.

Ah. Yes.
TBH I have only ever accessed the Task Manager via CTRL+Alt+Del. I'm sure that, if memory serves, when you did that in DOS it forced a reboot. -
