I just came across this forum post just now since I am doing something similar transferring vhs to digital at best quality. I was just reading in here Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK is bad. I know it has freezing issues but is it bad for VHS playback? It is the first time I am hearing Toshiba and Magnavox being recommended over Panasonic and JVC. Which Toshiba and Magnavox DVD/VCR recorder models are recommended over Panasonic EZ48VK. I have a Sanyo DVD/VCR (AV only) combo also but comparing both playbacks clearly the EZ48VK was better (on all outputs HDMI, RGB, and AV ). What about Samsung DVD/VCR recorder combo? I think the VCR still works on it. Is it better than EZ48VK? Another question is does the EZ 48VK have a builtin TBC?
