Pot Player problem with some video's

I have used Pot-player for a while, but now have found that video's from one particular issuing (NSFW) studio do not play properly in so much as Pot-player's seek/jump forward/ pause / audio level /. But they do play fine in vlc & MPC HC
Yes I could play these videos in the other video players, but keeping them all playing in Pot-player is far better as I find pot-player fits in very well with me

I did look to see where I should post this question but none look quite right

Iam not sure, but here in europe i cant get potplayer. Just potplayermini. Funny how ppl care about privacy, and using google, rated C+ and youtube rated D. Daum is rated B+ as most pages (it is rated according to Terms of service, and i dont believe the asian version and european are same. European is missing lot of functionality. At least for something is EU good. So there is difference in live and mini version i believe. Using google and youtube is much bigger evil.
Also Amaipaipai seems to be from asia, so probably affected more. There used to be times i want get full potplayer, still got only mini.

I'm an old fart, so, I don't like or use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp, etc, etc. Never liked ICQ, messager or anything like it also. Many years ago I used to use Hotmail/Gmail, now I use Protonmail. I still have my old gmail account, all my messages are encrypted with enigmail.
My smartphone is encrypted and runs under a firewall.

I run comodo firewall when I need to run Windows, my default OS is Debian, and my network has two firewalls, one to control internal traffic and the other to control external.

My Sony Bravia 47W802A doesn't have a network connection because this sucker started to access the internet when I turn it off, looking in to the circuits of the speakers the TV can record what you say and send it over to a amazon storage, using wireshard to sniff the packages it shows voice codecs for voice recording. I did report this behavior back in 2013, soon as I got the TV, 4 years latter wikileaks released the Vault 7 papers showing the CIA hacking tools were used to spy on iOS, Android and Samsung smart TVs.

Same Year I got myself a TP-Link TL-WDR4300, even with OpenWRT firmware this router contact China every single time it start and get internet connection, thanks to my iptables rules it dropped all the packages, later discovered some other issues with it.

I've started to take more care about this after the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 and 2008), this obligate American companies to add a backdoor in every electronic equipment they produce, read Qualcomm, Cisco and many other papers about FISA. Also many thing happening around security and privacy.

Did you just read what information it collects from you? [I have bolded it for you and the purpose] And you considered that it is spyware from that? Shall we just treat all softwares as spyware because every software collects information from your PC to achieve their purpose.

1. Not all software does this? The required permissions are for proper functioning of a software application called an advanced media player. Where do you think you get the detailed statistics from it's Preferences page? Like in the privacy policy just stated the information collected is non personal, and as explicitly stated is for it's general functioning.

There's only so much you can do when someone gets too paranoid for user privacy. I hope you start using Linux in the first place, because Microsoft might say it respects user privacy to some extent when it might not at all. The age old debate on how do "free programs" start making money other than selling user data hasn't yet gone away? There are freemium apps like Avast & CCleaner that even though they have paid programs to "support" development have been in the news for all the wrong reasons related to privacy.

A software scans the system for various purposes. For instance, in PotPlayer it tries to replace the thumbnails for associated programs with it's own thumbs. Second when it scans for media information like file name, it can download subtitles related to it as well display file information. Third every software connects back to check for updates to the software.

Joke of the day: Android has similar privacy issues to Microsoft, therefore the ultimate solution based on Siri's non-biased evaluation, is that you should migrate to Mac/iOS.
