  1. I have just started using VSDC video editor. When playing the source video on my laptop the content is smooth but if I import it into the editor and play the same file back, it stutters. Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Many thanks.

  2. Different decoding pathway . Media players are often GPU accelerated

VSDC is probably CPU decoding, and it's not fast enough for realtime playback, so it's dropping frames. If you step through frame by frame, the frames are probably there, it' s just skipping them because your hardware isn't fast enough, and the editor isn't optimized enough.

You can try reducing the playback resolution or using proxy editing. I doubt VSDC has an established proxy workflow , but it involves making lower quality/lower resolution versions for faster editing performance , then you swap back to the high quality originals on final render .

  3. Thank you for the reply.

I will take a look at the playback resolution as it seems the simplest method for a novice like me!

    Cheers
