  1. I have recently got a DVD rip in 2 SVCD ready MPEG files. Normally I always use VCDImagerGUI to convert the MPEG to bin/cue and burn with Fireburner which I have found is the easiest way (for me anyway).

I have never had any probelm this way until now. In VCDImagerGUI after scanning the MPEG file it gives me this messege:

INFO: scanning mpeg track #0 for scanpoints...**ERROR: scanning error 0x00000000 2324

I have also tried to burn in NERO which I am not too familiar with and I get errors before burning.

I have checked the files and I am certain they are SVCD ready files and can't understand why I can't make a CD.

I would be most grateful for any help or suggestions on any other software which may allow me to make an SVCD from these files. Thankyou very much.

  2. Have you done the same exact thing before?

It sounds like you have shitty software or have a computer virus.

It sounds like you've got some packet anomoly in the MPEG video files. I experienced a similar problem with a set of files I had edited with another program.

Remux the files in TMPGEnc and try again.

  5. Thanks for your help Dave B but how do I do that.

I know I sound a bit stupid but I am not too experienced with TMPGEnc. When I load my file into it, it says "cannot open or unsupported"

Don't know if I am doing this right though.

    Thanks again.

Read about how to remux it here

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/faq.htm#repairmpg

You will want to set the "Type" box to MPEG-2 Super Video CD or similar (I can't remember what it is called exactly) The FAQ also gives you a few more options to try (e.g. MPEG_Corrector software) before you give up with frustration.

    Good Luck
