  1. At the risk of getting shouted at, does anyone have a definitive guide
to avoiding a video track skipping on past audio ?

I use TMPGenc to convert DIVX to VCD, the quality is excellent, with
the exception of intermittent skips and jumps in video.

I have read many posts, both here and on TMPGenc, however a
definitive guide would benefit everybody. It also could be
part of the VCDHelp website !

    Many thanks to any contributors.

  2. WOW, 17 people looked at this and didn't answer but I will look left click on convert when you get into convert section take your pick plenty of guides there. I see today is your first day here but please read the FAQ page before posting. I will give you one hint use the first guide it's the easiest to use but make sure you read everything in the guide and do yourself a favor and read where it say problems with tmpgenc.Once you've mastered that guide then move on to anotrer for better quality.

DivX files are not an ideal source for re-compression into MPEG for many reasons.

Audio sync problems are indeed a bit of a nightmare but fortunately there are a few more guides on this site which deal with the specific problem.
