  1. I have googled several hours without expected results.

How to copy DVD video video_ts folder into mkv format video file without re-encoding?
No extra compression, just DVD conversion into mkv in 5 minutes ...
    Is it possible?

Purpose is to archive several hundred DVD's to Bluray media in Bluray player playable format.

I have already checked DVD Cloner to BD but couldn't figure out how to achieve acceptable results during it's 7 days trial period.
Conversion of 7 DVD was chopping picture and unstable sound.

    MakeMKV>File>Open Files>Select VIDEO_TS.ifo

MakeMKV will index the content of the DVD using that file. You will then be able to remux what you want to MKV.

  4. Thanks but I understood that makemkv will re encode content? Is there direct video copy from vob to mkv container?
I haven't tested makemkv personally yet because it's obscure licensing key system.
As much of content is more then 20 years old and of rather poor quality, any conversion results are questionable.

MakeMKV does not re-encode, it just repackages

The programs you mentioned reencode when creating an MKV. Or didn't you know that?

  12. The original question had already been answered with the method virtually everyone uses and your 'Lol' seemed to me to be both arrogant and contemptuous.

    But...

had I read more than the description of XMedia Recode on its page (which clearly states it's a converter) and read a little further down to Baldrick's guide to using it to copy, I'd have realized it was more than that. So, it seems I'm the fool here and I apologize to you.

It was not at all my intention. It was just a joke to say that it is funny to post on the largest forum dedicated to the video while searching hours on google while all the tools are under the eyes .Hope my answer is understandable, English i'snt my native language

  14. If the video_ts folder is NOT encrypted, the MakeMKV will NOT work (it will choke with failed to open disk)
In that case just use mkvtoonix (with the .vob files)
